Colleen Irvin

Colleen Carolyn Irvin, transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 21, 2026. She was surrounded by her family, singing worship songs to her, praying over her and holding her close. Colleen was born on Christmas Day 1941 to Milton and Mary Moore of Derby, Kansas. She, being the oldest of two brothers and a baby sister, loved family life. She was grounded in a family that loved Jesus and each other. On Christmas Eve 1961, Colleen married Neal Irvin. The couple had two sons and shared a life of 60 years together. She is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Mary; her two brothers, Stephan and Bud, and her beloved husband, Neal Irvin. Colleen is survived by her sons, Chris Irvin and wife Andrea of Hico, TX; Bret Irvin and wife Stacie of Weatherford, TX; and her sister Beckie Hall and husband Mike of Austin, TX. Mama Irv as she was called, is loved by many surviving grandchildren and great grandchildren; Stephan Irvin and wife Laura of Crawford, TX with their children Joseph, Josh and Lainee; Michael Irvin and wife Breanna of Ft. Worth, TX with their children Liam, Madeline and Noah; Beckie Irvin of Hico, TX; Jake Irvin and Kendall of McKinney, TX with their daughter Emory; and Ryan Irvin and Megan of Norman, OK with their children Milo and Isabella (coming in May). Aunt Sissy as she was called, is loved by many surviving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; Rachel Guidotti and husband Joe of Edmond, OK, with a daughter Brooklyn Johnston; Stephen Hall and wife Niccole of Edmond, OK, with children Zachary, Claire, Lydia, Josh, Caleb, Izzy, Lucy & Vivian; Joseph Hall and wife Mary Alice of Bartlesville, OK, with their children Maleah, Judah, Silas and Isaiah; Matt Moore and wife Aimee, of Greensboro, North Carolina and their son Dandin; and Nick Moore and wife Tiffany of Wichita, Kansas, and their sons Collin and Mason. Colleen was known for her witty character and artistic talents. She loved visiting with people and learning their stories, even if it was a person in line at Walmart. She loved communicating on Facebook with many friends and family, often sending videos to us. She loved sitting, visiting and watching movies together. Colleen had a talent for decorating, painting and sewing. She loved the Victorian cottage look and always wanted her home to look warm and welcoming, like you just entered a small cottage and cozying up for tea and a long visit. She always had an eye for the ways things looked, and wanted pictures, furniture and art to reflect her love of decorating and Jesus. Her final home was at Laurel Glen Assisted Living, and she wanted her room to be beautiful and welcoming. She loved to have people stop by and visit her in her room. Colleen loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart, soul and spirit. Being raised in a Christian home, she learned early in life the need for prayer, Bible reading, and attending a local church. She served faithfully over the years in her church, giving of her talents in flower arrangements, decorations for sanctuary, and creating spaces that reflected warmth. She served many times in nursery rotations and took meals to those that needed one. She supported many mission trips of her grandchildren and nieces and nephews, always willing to pray for their work and give financially. She loved listening to her son preach and would listen faithfully to his message every week. According to Facebook, she was our most faithful follower of Grace Bible Fellowship online service. Finally, Colleen loved being a mom. She never wanted to work full-time or hold any certifications or accomplishments. She wanted to be ever-present with her family and she was. She kept up with all her family and friends and loved sharing updates. Her son’s friends would call her the “Ultimate Mom,” or “Mama Irv,” and she loved them and prayed often for them. We will miss Colleen dearly but rejoice in knowing she is reunited with her family and sharing in her heavenly reward with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for eternity. She leaves a legacy of warmth, love, and the importance of knowing Jesus as your Lord and Savior. We are forever grateful for Colleen Carolyn Irvin, and honor her and her legacy each day until we join her one day in heaven. Celebration of Life service will be held, Friday, March 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Grace Bible Fellowship, Hico, TX.
