Alexander Dewayne Sikes age 20, born September 22, 1993 in Waco, Texas, passed away May 13, 2014. Alex was a student at Tarleton State University and a graduate of Hico High School. During Alex’s high school years he was on the football, track and baseball teams. Alex was a fullback on the Hico football team and during his senior year was the team quarterback, and played in the Victory Bowl. In track, he participated on the 4X400 and 4X100 relay teams, setting many records and receiving many medals. While a student at Tarleton, Alex also worked for Casey & Michelle Cooper. Alex enjoyed life and always brought a smile to everyone’s face. He loved spending time with family and friends, never missing a family holiday gathering and was quick to grab up his nephews and play. Alex was strong in faith and his belief in Jesus Christ. Alex is survived by his parents Ralph and Cindy Sikes and Cathy Sikes and Steven Christian, as well as by seven siblings: Lynsay Sikes, Keaton Sikes, Bobbi Jo O’Neal and husband Jacob, Chris Sikes, Dalton Sikes, Michael Armstrong and Lorie Armstrong. His grandparents Bobby and Carrol Watson, Dennis and Ronda Taylor also survive, as well as his nephews Colt O’Neal, Cade O’Neal, Houston Lawrence, Wade Armstrong and a niece, Brianna Lawrence. Alex is also survived by countless friends. A memorial fund has been established at the Mills County State Bank in Hico.
