Lavon "Cotton" Stockstill

Lavon “Cotton” Stockstill, born September 24, 1936 in Gordon, Texas to parents Houston and Velma (Beesinger) Stockstill, passed away in Hico, Texas on October 11, 2018 at age 82. Cotton graduated from Huckabay High School, loved hunting, fishing, farming and gardening, and most of all he loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. Cotton retired from AT & T. Preceding Cotton in death were his parents, Velma Ivy Beesinger and Houston Eli Austin Stockstill, nephew Mark Austin Stockstill, sister JoAnn Risinger, and brother Jackson Edgar Stockstill. Cotton married the love of his life, Linda Lee Cavitt on July 5, 1958, they had three daughters, Cynthia Anderson, of Pryor, Oklahoma, Melanie Black of Hico, Texas and Melissa Koonsman of Hico, Texas. Also surviving Cotton are grandchildren, Bobby Paul Anderson, Crystal Anderson, Teri Wood, Zack Wood, Tanner Cope, Cody Black, four great grandchildren including, Maddison Jean Wood and Reagan Jean Cope, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation 6-8pm, Friday, October 12, 2018 at Harvest Hills Funeral Home. Services 2pm, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Hico Church of Christ, with burial to follow at Black Family Cemetery, Hico, Texas.
