Marie Smith, born May 25, 1944, to Lesley Brown and Gladys (Vass) Brown in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away May 13, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas at age 77. Marie graduated from Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth, and lived in Duffau and Hico for over 50 years. She worked for Saint-Gobain in Stephenville for 36 years before retiring. Marie was known as Nanna RE to her loved ones, and as a sweet, helpful, and caring lady by all who knew her. Marie loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and enjoyed time with all the family at reunions. She also enjoyed planting and growing her flowers and pot plants, riding her lawnmower with the grandchildren in the trailer, and riding her jacked up golf cart. In her younger years, Marie liked to go bowling and fishing, enjoyed playing checkers and board games, as well as playing cards at Parker Ranch. Preceding Marie in death are her parents, Lesley Brown and Gladys and Reece Dickson; husband, Mike Smith; her Granny Smith; brothers, George Brown and Lesley Brown; sister, Sarah Graham; and sister in-law, Kathleen McIntyre. Surviving Marie are her son, Michael Smith and wife Jodi; daughter, Wendy Epley and husband Mike; grandchildren: Andrew Smith, Joshua Smith and wife Lacie, Mitch Turner, Sammy Jo, Matthew Epley, Britt Epley and wife Brittany, Dakota Smith, J Epley and wife Alexis, Sydney Smith, Addison Smith, and Montana Smith; as well as 27 great-grandchildren and 3 more on the way. Marie is also survived by one brother, Robert Brown, and one sister, Elzora Yeatts. Visitation 6-8pm, Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Harvest Hills Funeral Home. Graveside Services, 11 am, Monday, May 16, 2022, at Ramsey Cemetery, Stephenville, Texas with Pastor Dace Clifton officiating.
